BIG difference between the 12Z GFS and the 18Z as far as early January. Cross-Polar flow is gone in 18Z. Back to same pattern as the present. Just can't trust anything so far out.

The NWS is saying a low of 28°F, but I'm seeing Mid-20s tonight, it's already below freezing (31°F) right now.

GFS is also somewhat cooler for Christmas Day Oklahoma and North Texas. Christmas Eve is still a torch. Dallas went from mid to upper 70s to mid 60s
But yeah the storm beyond 300 hours is something else... Of course it's total fantasy lol

It is sleeting near the airport. It's mixed with rain but definitely some ice pellets falling from the sky. Winter has arrived!!!

Looks like the 00Z GFS giveth while the 06Z GFS taketh away. Snow all across SE TX with highs in the 20s on Jan 4th with the 00Z GFS. Highs in the upper 50s with rain on the 06Z run. Just can't trust anything that far out.
