This is the meat of it for Oklahoma. This is the first and heaviest band for the state, most of the accumulations will come in this.

I am ready to hear some heavy pingers followed by some fatties flying around in the wind.

That map time-line is a couple hours to slow. Local mets are on board with the change over to ZR by 7pm across western parts of DFW, and 9pm east of that includes Dallas co.

Also Friday's forecast high of 33 is reaching a little to much, I see highs Friday in the 28-31 range for DFW

current temp @ Meacham Airport is 33, DP 31

33 here at the house is SE Tarrant Co

Your freezing line does not pass through stations with 32F temps. It's too far south. I notice the 18Z GFS has sub-zero temps in Dallas Saturday morning due to all the ice on the ground.

Not sure if I can tonight. Maybe a couple hours. When do you expect the snow transition to occur?

Possibly after sunrise for snow transition. Better get some sleep.

Yes, pingers got to get up before dawn. Snow after sunrise.

DFW has a good mesonet we can use to track some of the temps.

Why is the radar showing snow when it's still Sleeting at my house?

FYI DFW airport dropped 4 degrees from 4pm to the 5pm update :cold:. Right after the strong gusting winds kicked in. Urban heat island can't outdo CAA.

We're down to 36 in Rockwall.

Are you looking for this map?

Correct me if I’m wrong but if it’s 36 in Rockwall then that Freezing Line might be about 6 hours ahead of schedule.

Also what’s going on with DFW traffic. Just looked on Google Maps and it looks like a sea of red & highway closures!!

Oh lovely. I am currently supposed to drive back to Austin Friday from Plano. This could be an interesting situation…

I would make other plans for sure.

Already let my manager know I might not be at work Saturday…
