Holy cow... that doesn't seem to bode very well at all.

A little glaze on trees is pretty, but with storms like this, it better change soon or it becomes dangerous fast. It’s colder than snot, so I can’t quite tell easily if I have any glaze unless I go out, but think it’s light.

Not sure how accurate this is, but my laser thermometer says outside objects are all in the mid-20s, so the rain isn’t warming surfaces if accurate.

Kind of surprised but I only measured about 2 inches here so far. I was expecting a bit of a bigger start tbh but there is plenty more to come. It sure is beautiful though but that wind needs to go away it's awful

Not TX, but we can relate….There is literally a huge snow hole circle all around KC tonight due to dry air.

Saw a crazy radar post. We have been there with that nightmare.

The heavy rain caused temps to plummet. To me that's a sign that the warm nose is not very warm.

Dang it! Power went out momentarily, but thankfully back on. Can see icicles starting to form on power lines & definite white glaze on trees.

NWS Austin/San Antonio just increased expected ice amounts here to .50”. This isn’t going to good.

You must be right. I've dropped to 40F already. Pretty steady rain.

Hi-Res models were showing temps would stagnate around freezing mark until around 11pm-12am when final cold push moves through

Temps were stalled between 31-32 here up until 30 minutes ago and now sharply dropping. Currently 27 and sleet/freezing rain mix. Hope to wake up to snow and not power outages.

Same, I’ve rose from 29 to 31 in the past couple hours. Still getting a heavy winter mix, hopefully it starts creeping back down.

Rain has been coming down pretty good since this late afternoon. I took a 5 mile walk in it.

It looks to me that there is still plenty of moisture coming out of Mexico from the Pacific.

Got my anemometer working again now that the freezing rain is hopefully over. Poured some luke warm water on it. Seems to have worked. Nothing like standing on a 3 step ladder in the cold while sleet is falling. If that does not say dedicated I don't know what does.

Driveway is starting to get slick. Here we go.
