I think you may need to reconsider your “winter over” talk….EPO WPO tank with AO following closely behind - cross polar flow. Winter isn’t over my friend. Maybe coldest relative to average all season coming up weeks 2/3

Sir, where have I heard this before? Oh yes, now I remember!

“Okay, you snow-loving cold mongerers, I'm back! Your winter is most likely over. Better start looking out for tornadoes instead of snow next week in Tulsa, Brent. Same for all of you in NE Texas. Could be a big severe weather outbreak. The only good thing is that the event will occur between sunrise and noon, too early for any help from daytime heating. Areas farther east and southeast won't be as lucky.”
Do not taunt the Heat Miser! Would you like 101F temps every day this summer with lows in the 80s?

Sleeting heavily here in Norman. Reminds me of late February 2015 in DFW. Precipitation is also a lot more expansive than the models predicted and we’re nearly exceeding the predicted totals from the NAM/HRRR and it’s not even 8:30 yet.

If you do this, please keep the dew point temp below 60. We haven't had many, "but it's a dry heat" in a few years.

Who’s taunting?!? My guess is that you are single-handedly trying to get the “Texas Winter 2021-22” thread to 400 pages, all by yourself. You do have an alter ego, after all.
Brent would add some comments in, but he’s busy putting some chains on his tires…so he can go tornado chasing!!!

Light sleet in Denison, has come in waves and has been moderate a few times. Schools are closed and streets starting to resemble granite. No thunder sleet yet, however.

So what's the latest model trends? Fox 4 days we warm up above freezing tomorrow. Are we talking ice and sleet? How much?
Is the Winter Storm Warning the kiss of death and this whole thing will bust now?
Roads seemed ok this morning from Ponder to Denton. It's in the low 20's so if anything falls my drive might be interesting.

A mix of freezing rain and sleet falling steadily. This is going to be a mess as the main event won't start until later. My kid still had school so let's see how summer tires on an RWD does this afternoon.

I wouldn’t call it a bust yet. I just drove from Fort Worth to Allen on 121 and roads are not great. Quite a few accidents. Especially in Collin County because hefty freezing drizzle past Frisco to Allen.

When you’re into only the 2nd hour of a storm and the word bust has already been mentioned.

The verified bust is the one where the GFS and Euro said we'd barely get a freeze and it's supposed to hover in the 30s and 40s while currently 25F at DFW

Relevant excerpt from the DFW NWS
Fortunately, we should get a little bit of a break for the next few hours. Brisk north winds and a relatively dry near surface layer will promote rapid drying of any residual water on area roads and we should see some improvement. That evaporation process will act to cool the near surface layer and we're already seeing this with temperatures in the mid 20s now from Fort Worth northward. T/Td spreads are still running around 10 degrees which means that the very light precipitation echoes noted to our south will likely evaporate before hitting the ground. This is good and bad. It's good because we won't see this drizzle freeze in the immediate short term. It's bad because it'll cool and help saturate the near surface layer. This will result in a rapid lowering of cloud heights and reductions in visibility, and will also allow additional precipitation to make it to the surface. So...we're expecting a lull in the precipitation over the next several hours. We'll be watching cloud ceiling heights to our south through the day and as they start lowering, chances for additional rain will increase. This will most likely occur later this afternoon into tonight. Any precipitation that falls where it is below freezing will likely freeze on area roads and bridges.
Conditions are expected to really deteriorate later tonight when another wave of mid level forcing for ascent overspreads the region. Forecast soundings also suggest that some isolated thunder will be possible so we'll include that as well.
