Looking better with every frame. Hope Bermuda and Canada are ready.

Fiona has really improved since this morning’s recon. The next flight won’t be until tonight, I believe around 7-8pm EST like yesterday. Hopefully Fiona doesn’t collapse before recon can get there.

I am only a meteorology enthusiast who knows a decent amount about tropical cyclones. Look to the professional mets, the NHC, or your local weather office for the best information.

Looks like we will be getting tons of recon this weekend and probably much better model runs

Tonight's recon can't come soon enough. This is the best Fiona has looked in a while, and it might be a stronger Cat 4 now.

18z BT keeps this at 115 kt, but I think it’s worthy of a slight upgrade to 120 kt based on the vastly improved satellite presentation compared to this morning. Too bad recon is still like five hours away.

This is the best she's ever looked imo.

Likely to begin slowly weakening any time now, before the nasty, potentially historic trough interaction takes place.

I agree, it definitely looks more 140 mph than 130 mph. Maybe even 145 mph. Who knows though

Does anyone know the exact time recon is scheduled. I think it’s similar to last night but I don’t know for sure.

Blah we will likely miss her peak winds by the time they arrive.

That sucks.

I think they’ll arrive in time. Fiona has been holding steady for a while, and the plane should get there in 2-3 hours. Even if they miss the max winds, they’ll probably find any pressure drop that may have occurred.

Currently at 20.3N and traveling at 377 kt, probably ~400 nm from where they’ll descend to operational altitude. We’ll probably have the first center fix in roughly an hour and a half or so.
