There is no CAA. Cooling will come underneath the ULL and its qpf shield.

So here’s my nutty take: North (drier and colder), south (warmer and more humid) west ( drier and warmer) and finally the east ( kind of a jog in place). I know everything to the east predicates that but all things being equal, we kind of hold still.

Ice probably the biggest threat next week…classic overrruning event with dense shallow arctic air getting out on front of the southwest trough. South push should be underestimated by every model except maybe ICON, has done well with setups like this

What a trend here... From a half inch to 3 inches last night to 4-8 inches+ tonight on the same TV station :double: I fully expect Tulsa to upgrade to a warning by morning

I don't want to take away from the wintery weather discussion but it appears this could be a pretty serious tornado threat in the far SE parts of TX and areas along the gulf coast

Yeah, I don't even know what to think anymore. We will just have to wait until tomorrow to find out what happens.

Temps refusing to drop in central Oklahoma. Haven’t even gotten below 40 here in Norman and we were supposed to be well on our way to 35 by now. :spam:

Apparently looking at reports Lubbock went from 40s and rain to 30s and snow within a few minutes. Wet-bulb cooling definitely helping on that rain to snow line.

I am still trying to be optimistic but there are just so many variables with this system. Some of us may face disappointment based off the hype but others may get a pleasant surprise out of it. We just have to wait and see.

We needed clear skies down here for a few hours after dark to get the temps down. I just don’t see snow happening in DFW now. Temps will struggle to get to 40F overnight. Make sure you post some pics of your snow for us down here.

I see most mets are forecasting a low of 37 or 38, pretty far off to be able to get snow. Bummer-it actually feels warmer now than it did around 6p

As said above, dont focus on your current temps right now. Temps will crash when the precip begins to fall. For those locked into snow, it may start as rain for a short period of time(15 minutes) and as temps crash under the precip, snow will then begin to fall.

It's odd to see a tornado threat hug the coast from Texas to the Florida panhandle.

I am concerned about the temps today. Too warm for snow. I wonder if they will drop at all otherwise this will be a bust of epic proportions.

So looks like 42.6 IMBY. Think that seals our fate. That’s a lot of cooling. Will probably get a mix with some flakes in late.

Temps will drop quite a bit when the ULL passes through and heavier precip starts falling.

I had a really sharp drop of about 5 degree when the rain started but now it’s kinda leveled off. Hopefully I can shave off another 7 degrees or so as the day goes on.

Hopefully precip stalls or slows down. Weather apps telling me sunny by 3pm. Dallas should be clear much later though so they have time for temps to drop

Lubbock schools closed so must be good out there.

This is the only time I miss living in Midland though often snow missed us to the north.
