What is that? Will it be absorbed into Milton making him larger?

It looks like an area where Milton’s wind field is interacting with some winds from the front and causing a local convergence zone which is helping those storms to form. Kinda like that huge blob of storms that was to the east of Matthew for most of its life.

Milton could beat a record set by... the hurricane whose name it replaced

I’m still shocked about this storm. 3 days ago it was still thought to be more likely a frontal low than a tropical cyclone. It goes to show we don’t fully understand everything in the tropics.

Now we’re watching a storm intensify in a way to be compared to other storms like Wilma, Michael etc.

People need to take this seriously or else we’re gonna see a lot of corpses.

Today would be a good day for those in the path of Milton to take your phone and make a video of all your possessions of value, you should go room to room and point out those items for insurance purposes (and take photos as well), especially if you're renting and have renter's insurance. It would be a good idea to upload it all to "the cloud" as well in case something happens to your phone.

So survived Katrina living in New Orleans. Lost everything but lived.
Heading out of Clearwater tomorrow morning. Got to keep the family safe.

If you’re thinking of leaving central or SW Florida, most of the hotels east of the Apalachicola River and south of Macon/Savannah are booked up. Even areas outside of those are getting slammed. I notice some hotels in Miami are still available. I’d book asap cause I expect a full exodus to happen soon. You don’t want to have to drive 700 miles when you go 350 and be good.

Yeah we have 4 adults, 3 kids and two dogs. Got lucky and found a VRBO in Panama City
But almost everything in that area is already booked, dont start freeing up until Mobile and beyond
Still stuff if you dig around

Going to be in your neighborhood starting tomorrow for three nights, booked on Saturday. And if things go like they look they might be going, I might be taking an extended tour of the Southeast US over the next week or two.

Milton will then be much larger and will pass over a good portion of the hottest part of the Loop Current.
He will also be under a weak anticyclone coming from the negative-tilt UL trof.
Hate to say it and no intention to panic, but this may become the strongest TC on record in the Atlantic Basin.

Do you mean in pressure? Like Wilma?
