Models have really shifted the snow north for this weekends/early next week system.

It's interesting that the models have held onto this for so long this far out. The GFS has overrunning moisture around the area for a full three days (Thu-Sun) with temps at the bear edge.

I would just have to laugh if Baton Rouge ended up being too far north for snow. Lol

I know it’s probably least likely to be right but I’ll go ahead and hope to lock that one in.

The Canadian and ICON look good for the coastal areas. The GFS is a little too far north with the low. All depends on how far north or south it goes.

12z GFS looks like it will continue that trend.

Always so close yet so far. Really bummed to be this cold and have this much QPF but not quite get to where we need to be temp wise. At least it was fun to watch for a while.

I'm not a meteorologist, I'm an electronics engineer. While I can probably fix your toaster oven, you're not going to learn about storms from me!

New Mexico had no hurricanes. Then I moved to NC right before Fran.....

I live in the Hattiesburg, Ms area, it’s always been tough to get snow here. I became a weather enthusiast as a 7th grader and experienced the historic cold outbreak in 1989 then we got the superstorm in March of ‘93. We had nothing until NYE of 2000 then 2009 and 2010 we got decent snows and the last good one was in December of 2017. We are due a decent storm, maybe we’ll get one before this winter is over.

Ensembles show another cold snap coming later this month, but the PNA looks to be shifting from positive towards neutral or negative so the heart of the cold might be west of the SE this time. We’ll see. You don’t always need to be crazy cold to get snow anyway. Lots of times too cold is a bad thing if you want winter weather.

Well at least it was entertaining while it lasted :(

Closest we've had in years. It will happen again, just a matter of time. Hate seeing the forecast of rain with temps in the 30s. That's just miserable

It’s hard for me to believe temps will warm up in the 40s Thursday or Friday with moisture and a northerly or northeasterly wind but we shall see. Maybe there will be a surprise
