I would still say overall a positive run especially compared to how early today and last night have been.

Not if you want all snow. I don't think anyone wants to deal with freezing rain.

I would prefer snow, but for me I’ll take a nice batch of sleet or even freezing rain compared to nothing, but that’s just me. I like how it looks visually, but the negatives of it such as power, roads, etc, aren’t good.

I’ll take the freezing rain all day, it at least feels like a winter weather event, no thanks on a cold rain.

This Santa Ana event (southern CA fires) is one hell of a trough vs. HP arctic air mass. Crazy to think this trough will be affecting us in a very different manner in 36-48 hrs.

I know we’re all focused on how the storm will impact us, but man… the situation is bad in Los Angeles.

Have some friends out there and they’re having to evacuate. Kinda glad I got out of there, lol.

It’s not typical for LA proper to see such high of winds.

Yeah wind gust of 80mph out there. So terrible to see so many communities and homes impacted.

Euro totals are slightly reduced, but still pretty substantial and shifts the transition line a little farther to the southeast.

GEFS totals increased by about 1" for much of ntx north of I20, overall swath expanded back west a bit.

txtwister78 yeah haha its hard to trust the euro, that being said the 00z run was an exact carbon copy of its own ensemble, at least at the 500 mb level, but definitely a sign that a much bigger cold pattern is looming just beyond the horizon lol

Yeah the Euro's QPF on the northwestern edge shrunk some. Hope we can have last minute or real time increase in qpf for our WF to Abilene posters.

EPS increased a little bit, and probably the best it's looked since well over a day ago. Biggest swath lines up about I-30.

They're both without question all snow for Collin/Denton Counties and very EURO-esque...

Yeah this HRRR is drool worthy. It seems from those 3, if you are snow at the onset then it's something bigger.
