Sun angle is starting to lose its punch. On the south side of the house, icicles in the trees start melting when the clouds thin, but the north side no longer does that.

Here in N FTW have already surpassed 2.5” of snow without the sleet with more coming.

Euro definitely over did the precipitation amounts, but nailed the system and the dynamics.

Yeah I was referring to the nuclear accumulations it had. Obviously, dynamics gets you into a different category where other models were solid as well with perhaps some a bit too warm. Obviously where your best QPF establishes helps as well.

Yea looking at models we will have to be lucky to change to snow at this point. Sucks but it happens. The joys of winter in TX, just too much Gulf warmth over here.

Getting anxious and ready for the evening. lol. Eating too many snacks. But, our high temp recently has been around 4:15, so I expect just a few more hours before at least the surface temps won't go up.

CPC newest update now has a slight risk of hazardous temps for the period of 1/19 — 1/24th period for nearly all of texas, very very interesting

Snow in Texas, 8th wonder of the World

Don't use my posts as forecast; I'm not a licensed meteorologist! I just endorse cold weather, alright?

All observations I note are for Temple, Texas unless otherwise stated.

A severe Arctic outbreak could happen in that time frame. Some big time cold is lurking. Should drive straight down the Plains.

Hey Stratton, while these guys are reveling in their snow, what do you see down the line for our part of the south?

Harp.1 the only thing I can say with certain right now is a big cold air dump is coming to the deep south, including lousiana, alaskan ridge dislodges cold air in siberia , what we dont yet know is just how cold it gets and if their will be any short waves or storm systems in place, either way I can tell you that its look very very cold after the 18th

Interesting drive from Coppell to Grand Prairie. Started as snow, then snow and sleet, then sleet and rain, then rain. Goodness the battle zone is battling. Home now with rain/sleet mixture.
