I was just looking at the historicals and a year ago this time it was 90 degrees and the record was 91, I guess this isn't that far off of the new normal as we thought.

Even I, a Summer girl to my core, am ready for some cozy weather, but not too cold, unless I am promised snow.

Amazingly our hottest Halloween ever was in 1950 at 87 degrees. Always makes me laugh when people talk about how it was never hot before.... And I've seen it a lot this month because it's been so warm relatively speaking(even this week the afternoons are a torch still). People act like it snows every Halloween here or something... I think we've had exactly one measure snow(1993) and someone said everything was basically cancelled that year anyway something else I found interesting about that winter was it never snowed again til March!! I think I'd rather take my chances later...

It's looking like we stay in the 60s this year with no rain or wind which ain't bad

I’m betting 1993 was the year I trick-or-treated in the snow in Kansas. But, that’s the only Halloween it snowed even up there. It was a good 3-4 inches though, so a biggie.

The 12z regular NAM has moved the core of the rain over DFW from the SE in the prior run with some spots getting 6 inches. It has increased it from the 0Z run as well. Now on the high-res version, I feel like the 06 was better for me in western Tarrant. But, still a solid hit for DFW with the 12Z.

HRRR looks good, though a little less widespread QPF than 06z. But, I am feeling pretty good for at leat 1.5 to 2 inches for most in North TX.

Showers and 2 cells have formed along a weak frontal boundary east of Dallas Co. drifting E. That may strip some of the moisture from the atmosphere across parts of NTX

Big cells forming NW of DFW but most of that will remain north of DFW, and will affect Greyson, Denton, and Collin counties.

Case of feast or famine. After more than a month of hardly anything, deluge for some. Probably localized 4-6" somewhere. Make up for the month after bone dry.

Latest HRRR extended putting down some respectable rainfall totals across SC TX late tomorrow evening and overnight into Saturday morning including the SA metro.

Also appears to be where the greatest risk of severe weather may end up being based on the last few runs.

After that post I checked the HRRR, which has an alarming hole of nothingness over DFW. But the other runs don't have that, so I think it's an error. NAM has shifted rain around here and there but been more consistent.

I drove through one of them when I went down to Addison today.
