Yep they need the rain more than us. Haven’t been so lucky in WF this week. We’ve either been too far west or too far east like yesterday with the supercells that developed NW of us. The luck of the draw… Not really out of the norm though for this time of year here. Severe weather is usually East of us in March and centered around DFW the Arklatex and points east.Until the dryline sets up later in Spring. The main severe weather season here is April - June.Tuesday does look a little better though here for rain.

NWS graphic now under an inch expected for Tarrant. The drop has been something. Not a good sign for the early season.

But it’s early and often this is normal.

The HRRR shows supercells developing again in North Texas today. It did a good job on Wednesday’s severe weather in DFW.

I think the main batch of rain to cross the state is middle of next week when the actual system comes. So far it has been dynamics from disturbances much further north over the Rockies.

The rain should be more widespread tomorrow though for central and southern portions of the state. And next Tuesday and Wednesday rainfall looks to be state wide. As the system ejects. There could be some heavy rainfall totals when the main system comes in.

Every El Niño and La Niña is different. 2015 was a strong El Niño also and was a record breaking wet year for Texas. And had several winter storms. We have only seen two strong El Niños since 2010. 2015 and 2023. One was wet the other was dry and hot. 2018 had a weak El Niño that had a very wet Fall.

May 2015 was the most anomalous month for any type of weather. When I was in my statistics class I used it as an example. It was some ridiculous number for rainfall amounts. Something like we’d have to go 968 years before the chances of that happening again. That’s not just May but all months. Wild stuff.

If I'm reading correctly the latest hrrr looks like a nothing burger for DFW? Maybe a line of storms later on?

Not trying to jinx it, I just don't want to deal with supercells right now.

Yeah, Looks like the cap is still holding in the DFW area and nothing popping off yet. There is a Tornado watch issued for Tarrant & Dallas counties and counties north until 10pm tonight.

Not a fan at all of that leading storm riding the Turnpike towards Tulsa. Has completed all mergers and is now discrete. Could be strong tornado potential here there soon.

Cancel the watch for Texas. Cap killing anything per FWD.

Yeah can’t imagine much happening in north Texas other than a sub-severe line moving through around daybreak tomorrow. Even just going outside it feels less muggy and looks more stable than it did earlier today. I think places out west and/or north of the red river have stronger chances

Yep, agree. One positive thing is that the line of storms will at least bring more widespread rains.

Yeah even in their FB replies NWS said that the cap will hold.

Hopefully will get some AM stuff. I want rain at least.

Lot of sirens here but it's been tracking northwest of me the whole time

At least it will apparently rain maybe. There were models with no rain this morning
