Reed Timmer is a professional Meteorologist. He holds a Ph.D. in Meteorology from the University of Oklahoma. My take on his post is that we have several chances for severe weather outbreaks in the area he outlined during the month of April.

Trust me I know who Reed Timmer is. I still respect him, I just think that some of his hype and over the top commentary is just not my style anymore. His business is to drive clicks and views so I get that he wants to get out there and stir up talking points. His contribution to Meteorology and such does not go un noticed, I think he could turn down the volume a bit, but again that's his choice and some people like that. Just not for me anymore.

And on that subject when a person is a professional meteorologist with his credentials people tend to hyper focus on everything he says and just pass it along because again his business is to drive views to his services. I think with his type of public profile that he should also be mindful that some people will take what he says and not fully comprehend and understand what he's trying to get across and thus create some potential fear and unwarranted panic because the majority of people don't understand exactly how models and forecasting works that far out or even in the real time.

Convective Chronicles also does 30 to 50 minute post-mortems on big ticket tornado producers of the past, and the occasional SPC Mod or High Risk that 'underperformed'. I knew about jet streaks but he has shown the speed of the progression of the jet streak is also a factor in whether or not significant severe will happen.
