Snowy West Coast Weather
A storm rolling off the Pacific will bring heavy rain to the coast and pile up the snow in the mountains of northern and central California Monday and Monday night. The accumulating snow in the Sierra Nevada Mountains will be best measured with a yard stick during the next 24 hours. Three to five feet of snow will be found upon the peaks of the southern Sierra Nevada by daybreak Wednesday morning.
Snow from this storm will not be limited to just the Sierra Nevada today. Snow in the Cascades of Oregon and California and across the rest of the high country of northern California Monday and Monday night will accumulate at least 3-6 inches above 1,000 feet with up to a foot of snow in the southern Oregon Cascades and California Cascades above 3,000 feet. Snow across south-central and eastern Oregon, northern Nevada, western and northern Utah, Idaho into southwestern Montana, western Wyoming and north-western Colorado Monday and Monday night will accumulate at least 1-3 inches.
