Jennifer I was just speculating and apologize if you thought I was insinuating that he is tied to Al Qaeda. It just seems odd.

I just read the article on foxnews.com. I found his father and brother's comments very interesting. They have emails from the U.S. consular office in Iraq telling them that their son was being detained by the U. S.
military in Mosul. They gave copies of these emails to the AP. The government denies that this happened even in the light of the emails. I don't understand.

He was held because he had an Israel stamp on his passport which caused some suspicion.

The article on foxnews.com says it was the US military, and his family and the AP have emails to prove it. Why does the government deny having him in custody? I don't understand.

Berg's communications to his parents stopped on March 24 and he told them later he was jailed by Iraqi officials after being picked up at a checkpoint in Mosul.

Sounds like a Father who wants to blame the government instead of the masked cowards that killed his son. NO ONE is to blame but them!!

My heart breaks for his dad and the rest of the family. I think they do blame the Iraqis who actually killed him, but I think they have some valid questions for the government. In their position, I believe most people would check out every possible thing.

Obviously, I wasn't clear. I don't understand how you got confused, but I'm sorry that I was blurry.

If you completely read my post, you'll see that I posted someone else's statement from the Yahoo news message boards, right?

THAT statement is what I was hoping was bunk -- from the poster. Yahoo message boards are NOT a reliable source at all. And ya know, if I can't Snopes it, I'm gonna try everything possible to debunk it. :wink:

I know that many here watch Fox News, so what I was asking was if anyone heard Neil Cavuto make that statement. I also pointed out that the poster said it was on CNN, which would mean it wasn't Cavuto, which could have meant the poster was just trolling. People do that on Yahoo...a lot. So then, when something surprising like this comes along on Yahoo, it's hard to know if it's truth or fiction.

I was just asking, in the hopes that someone else was watching and either heard the same (and could verify) or heard totally different or maybe Cavuto wasn't even talking about Berg on today's show and the Yahoo poster was trolling. *shrugging shoulders*

As for dragging his name through the dirt, I was in NO WAY trying to do that. I'm glad that others did hear the story and heard MORE details so I could understand what was going on.

So, to answer your question -- no, I do not want Cavuto to tell lies. I just wanted to know if the poster was fibbing about the whole overall statement.

I'm not saying that Berg had ties to 9/11 but there's a lot of this that just doesn't add up IMO. Don't get me wrong, what happened to him was horrific and the people responsible should be "dealt with" like the scum that they are! I don't know how he fits in to anything, or even if he does but a few things just seem really ironic. He met someone at college in Oklahoma and gave this complete stranger his email address and password. Moussaoui (who later turns out to be an Al-Qaeda suspect, aka the 20th hijacker) ends up with that info and uses his email account. Several years later, he is captured and killed in another country, on video for all the world to see, by Al-Qaeda. No, I'm not saying he was involved with Al-Qaeda, at least not knowingly. I really don't know, it just seems odd. There's other things too. He was in Iraq earlier this year and then he left in January or February. He returned in early March and was captured a few weeks later. Why did he go back to such a dangerous place? He said he couldn't find work. And again, ironically, others have said his line of work is in great demand there and for big bucks.

There's other odd things, but anyway, I'm sure more of this will come out soon enough.
