The Gulf next week...
If trough drops, lifts out, and splits a piece off as some models suggest, we might see the tropical moisture feeding northward into the S-SE U.S., maybe even good soaking rains for –dare I say it? – Florida!
Personally, I'm hoping the tropics can hold off on any serious business 'til after July 4th thereabouts, so the family and I can take our 7-day cruise in the SW Caribbean later this month.

BOC Mess Next Week
A few of the NWS discussions are stating the GFS wants to develop a low pressure area in the BOC.
Here are a few excerpts:
Brownsville Disc:
THE GFS SEEMS TO WANT TO DEVELOP SOMETHING IN THE BAY OF CAMPECHE AS
EARLY AS THIS SUNDAY. IF THE LOW PERSISTS...SHOWER CHANCES WILL ALSO
BEGIN TO INCREASE NEXT TUESDAY AND WILL LAST THROUGH THE END OF THE
AVAILABLE GFS GRIDS...240 HOURS.
New Orleans DIsc:
GFS ADVERTISING SOME
DEEP MOISTURE COVERING THE ENTIRE GULF BY 192+ HOURS. THEN THE GFS
BEGINS ITS NATURAL SUMMERTIME PROCESS OF NOT BEING ABLE TO TRANSFER
THE LATENT HEATING AT THE SFC AND ALOFT IN THE PRESENCE OF LIGHT
WINDS AND CREATES A MESS IN THE BAY OF CAMPECHE???

Yes I agree.
Yes I agree at least it may give us something to look at for this upcoming weekend. Will the BOC give us our first TD of the season?
