Remembering John Hope on second anniversary of his death
The master of the tropics as I always say to that man who died two years ago on this date june 13th.I send a prayer to him and to his family. He was the heart of TWC when the tropical updates where on-air.Everyone was listening with attention when he was talking but now those updates are not the same.

I've minced no words re: TWC. They have devolved down to McDonald's of weather. No longer the "go-to" network for wx enthusiasts like us, TWC is soccer mom morning forecasts, Storm Stories and commercials. It astounds me that serious wx people even watch it anymore.
However, when John Hope was on...even near the end...TWC showed glimmers of what it started off as. His steady, calm hand and expertise was always anticipated. And after two years (it seems impossible), he is missed still today.

I have to agree with you guys. John Hope was great.. He really wasn't afraid to go against the NHC if that was his opinion..
He also knew how to keep a calm grip on a monster situation {such as an Andrew, Opal, Fran} type storm..
I don't really like Steve Lyons and TWC has gone down hill completely..
I actually used to watch TWC all the time because I at 1 time had dreams of becoming a met. It's sad to see how far down they've gone..
