I was just lookin at the morning satellites and i noticed a small disturbance in the extreme southern part of the Caribbean around 10N and 70W. My question is if this activity is simular to the BOC activity I mentioned last nigh, and as you all said fizzled out quickly, or is this sometihng more to look at in the days to come.

looks like it is just a flare up of convection that is dieing off pretty quickly right now... plus, it is , was, over south america.. the mean flow appears to be westward... this should be of no concern.... just my 2 cents... the area to watch is near the bahamas... this could have a chance if it sits there long enough... even if it does not develop, there looks to be plenty more moisture head for the southeast.... as if we need any more.....

not uncommon to get convection down in sw caribbean coming off Columbia Some fire over the water in the first place, because of the easterlies slowing down when they get close to central america. So the winds go vertically up which is condusive to convection. This area is climotologically more favorable in Oct/Nov.
