very odd pattern

a trough extends from ne of bermuda through the gom with alex embedded within. i would not be surprised to see another form east of alex

It has been very odd, we had 2 cold fronts move through in July that cooled us off and dried us out. A cold front in july is basically unheard of down here but two of them :eek: . Let's see if the strange weather continues.

I think something could develop in the gom along the trough axis trailing from Alex, pressures are running around 1013mb in the eastern gom, with a lot of convection. If this is left behind after Alex scoots out, something to watch.

Yes, this has been mentioned this afternoon. Low moved into the Gulf and then this explosive persistent convection.
