#1 Postby EDR1222 » Thu Aug 12, 2004 10:26 pm

11 Pm NHC discussion talks about a possible premature northerly course. Any thoughts?

Possible changes?

Thanks

Still slightly, and key is slightly, west of north. I'm thinking south of Tampa for landfall (it's hard to hold a due north course for too long)...maybe Sarasota or down around Venice.

Premature north movement

#6 Postby Floridacaner » Thu Aug 12, 2004 10:55 pm

Off the 11pm discussion:

THE POSSIBILITY OF A PREMATURE NORTHWARD MOTION AND THE FORECAST
SIZE OF THE STORM REQUIRES TROPICAL STORM WATCHES TO BE EXTENDED
SOUTHWARD ALONG THE SOUTHEAST FLORIDA COAST. THE FORECAST TRACK
REQUIRES EXTENSION OF HURRICANE WARNINGS UP THE FLORIDA WEST COAST
AND TROPICAL STORM WATCHES INTO SOUTH CAROLINA.

the Key West long range radar loop does look as if Tampa my be lucky and get the west side of Charlie. Further south is what looks more likely based on teh this novices HO.

Ugh... I still don't like the uncertainty with this track. :(

Maybe it'll become more clear in the morning. I have my doubts.
