I predicted a longer haul than many, even in here...and I am VERY happy with our coalition's progress, 11 days in.
I'm very happy with our progress too streetsoldier. Our soldiers are amazing and I'm extemely grateful.

during the clinton years the federal deficits were eliminated, and in fact for the first time in decades the debt was being paid down.
under bill clinton there was a long period of prosperity.
and as far as Hillary goes, she is doing a fine job as the junior senator from the great state of NY. if you even ask members of the republican party in the senate they will say how impressed they are by her and the job she has done.

I just couldn't stomach reading through this whole thread. Let me guess Wannabe......Your one of the Liberals out there that if polled today would say your vote goes to Gore in 2004 even though he's not running??
Sorry man...but everytime I see that sorry excuse for a President defended, it nauseates me. As always with Liberals..its all about power and money. Who cares if the integrity of highest office in the Country is no more important to our President, then which cheek of Monika Lewinski he licks up to next?
Never forget Wannabe..this man is a liar, he broke the Law, and disgraced this Country....and his wife Billary was right beside him the whole time.....in essence telling the Country that his adultrous behavior was OK. So....go ahead America.....don't worry about morals...I didn't!

actually J i didnt vote for Gore in 2000 and i wouldnt vote for him in '04. even if he was running.
and if you dont think it is about power and money with some liberals, conservatives, moderates then you havent been paying attention.
you proved my point about being blinded to the good bill clinton.
when bill clinton was president the economy boomed, deficits disappeared.

dont put words in my mouth streetsoldier!
J was talking about american politics and that is how i responded.
of course it is about the money with the french, germans, russians, british, spanish, italians, et al.
i mean why else did the french contiunually oppose bushs proposed resolutions on iraq, but now want a "major voice" in rebuilding a post war iraq.

Ok, since you put it that way, let me make a request; climb down out of your New York ivory tower, do NOT go to San Francisco or Los Angeles, and walk among the vast majority OF Americans..,that's right, down here in the great, unwashed masses between the two Left Coasts, and see for yourself what America wants, is interested in, and feels about the war.
The answers will shock you no end, I'm sure of that.

I know both streetsoldier and wannabe really like posting here...otherwise they wouldn't be so touchy and say they are leaving. Bill also went through his low times with this board...and it seems like David feels the same way even though he has a different pov than bill. You guys may be more similar than you think...and i thought you said you were a liberal too bill?

Who said that I was a "liberal"? Geez, I should have thought that my 700-plus posts would have been enough to put that notion to bed...
Besides, my health is still shaky...but I have found that I can post in spurts (sometimes skipping a day or two) without too much stress-related damage accrued, if I'm careful about time spent online.

You may have misunderstood...I am a "classical liberal" in the Jeffersonian tradition...limited governmental intervention, free play of unrestrained capitalism, entrepreneurial outbursts of growth all around, privatization of everything NOT specifically enumerated in the Constitution...which, today, places me solidly to the RIGHT of center.
My apologies if I misled you.
