Future Possibilities??

#1 Postby Ixolib » Sat Sep 04, 2004 7:33 am

I realize we ought to take things one at a time, but my curiosity has me wondering the possibilites of (1) this graphic holding and (2) Frances strengthing in the GOM? MobileBay has been quite observant of this trend, and now has me observing (wondering?) too...

Although the ETA basically is not a tropical model, it is now on board with the GFS for strengthening in the Gulf as the lobe of the Atlantic ridge holds firm.

It seems like the models are consistently moving the storm more west with each run. The longer the storm is over the Gulf, the more opportunity it has to strengthen. Does anyone know if any of the intensity models are calling for it to possibly re-reach hurricane strength prior to making a second landfall?
