For those in the dark in Florida..help is on the way..

Several hundred from New Orleans and the region from Entergy went to Florida after Charley to assist in restoring power. They mentioned on the news that the crews and trucks are headed back for Frances and from my understanding the crews and trucks are already in Florida waiting for the storm to pass to get to work and restore power as fast as possible. Entergy is one of the South's top energy providers and the tree trimmers are some of the best anywhere as they are experienced in preserving New Orleans' very old live oaks. http://www.entergy.com/corp/

Another cool story was a few weeks ago I was in Opelousas and I was wondering why a truck was holding up traffic.

Then, I noticed about 20 utility trucks coming from I-49 onto US 190..... Headed towards Flordia! It was a cool sight to see them all in a line, bandanas on their heads and ready to do a job that not many people recognize.

That was a cool site to see.

We were without power for four days after Charles, but I can't believe how quickly they restored power considering the damage in Orlando. People in Orlando wanted to find a power dude and give 'im a hug.

Now .. next time we're hoping for two. Oh .. and I still have power!!

I went over to Naples the day before the storm hit us (and came back home.) On the way over, I saw a police escorted convoy on the Alligator with trucks with plywood and lots of repair trucks.

I knew we might be hosed then. *grin*
