The point is (as you so well put it crazycajuncane)people shouldnt jump the gun on something like that and post it as if its the real deal before actually seeing the real data. All i ask is that people say that they HEARD it and not present a post as if its actually data.
Perhaps i did over react a little but i for one feel very strongly about false info being posted on this site. And thier is other reasons as well for my strongly worded post to him. Evidently this false info came from another bb who thinks everything is a joke.

May I suggest we double check all reports before posting them? Regardless of how reliable u think the source is. A report like that can cause needless panic. I realize that no one could forsee something like this happening. But there are people who take joy in making others miserable and we need to be vigilant.

GOSH I totally understand Kingofweather....but honestly! Who would ever believe someone would FAKE A VORTEX..gonna stick to my guns on this as I could of made the exact same mistake and TWC did too! I don't blame him! Can you imagine how that made Yoda feel! He was just trying to help out and gets slammed for something that's not really his fault! 99 percent of the people on this board would of made the same mistake...tell me they wouldn't of! I'm sorry MODs, if you disapprove of this message ...but I REALLY feel bad for Yoda here. And I will always defend anyone I feel is being treated wrongly.

Some clever person may have hacked into NHC website. Just yesterday a mischievous person hacked into CBS Sportsline website and fabricated a story that Washington Redskins running back Clinton Portis injured himself while lifting weights and would be sidelined 8-12 weeks. The Vegas sports books went with this information and took the Redskins-Buccaneers game off the board for over an hour before it was confirmed story was a hoax. This scenario is an entirely plausible here.

Well... here's the kicker.
1) They wouldn't have misspelled it.
2) Isn't hard to see a stadium effect, regardless of quality, at night?
3) These messages are in all caps.
To answer your question, though, it could be if the met wanted it to be.

Don't really think it matters than an on air met from TWC read something in error. We cannot let members get drawn into a false report.

So yeah. Everything on this site...I always take it with a grain of salt. It's just people posting their opinions regarding the tropics...trying to trump the professionals. But, if a national media outlet reports something on the air that they haven't obtained from an official source, it disturbs me. That's just irresponsible....really, really irresponsible.

That comment has appeared in messages before.
However...the stadium effect is a daytime event and would not apply at night.

http://www.hurricanehunters.com IS the OFFICAL site of the Hurricane Hunters.
I believe the site is mainted by the HH themselves...not NOAA...

I understand as well as heard you mention it on Teamspeak. Makes perfect sense.

Not only that Pebbles, but it isn't on it's own line.
