THE SACRIFICE
Our ships, planes and people are on station around the Earth,
Protecting America and her friends, keeping free the land of my birth.
They came from many races, they came together to make a stand,
To protect our county’s freedom, so to them, I raise my hand.
I raise it in a salute to honor them, one and all,
That gave to our country’s need and that answered our country’s call.
The freedom we enjoy today, was bought with a heavy price,
Let’s be thankful for the veterans that made the sacrifice.

Great message that I agree 100% and I too salute all the men and woman serving overseas doing a sacrifice for the good of a country that needs it badly.

God bless all those that have ever graced the uniform of the United States military; especially those that made the ultimate sacrifice.
It's because of their sacrifice, their courage, honor, and dedication that I am blessed with the freedoms I have today.
Freedom doesn't come cheap...it's paid for in broken bodies and the blood of young American men and women. We've had vivid reminders the past two weeks of the price of freedom. Memorial Day just isn't about the Indy 500 and picnics...Veterans Day isn't just a day between Halloween and Thanksgiving.
If anyone doesn't understand what I mean...just look at the names of men and women lost, missing, and taken prisoner the past two weeks. That's the price of freedom....brave marines dying to save their comrades; pilots shot down and taken captive...tortured; young mothers from Arizona and fathers from Ohio and Oregon brutally murdered...a pretty blue eyed teenage country girl in pain, her bones broken, as she lies in the hospital.
That's why I honor them, and why I pray at night for them, and for their families!

Unlike many of the 50,000 who lost their lives in Vietnam both without wanting to be there and without the support of those back home, I remain amazed at the determination and steadfast commitment these American soldiers in Iraq continue to demonstrate.
They deserve nothing but our own steadfast appreciation.
