Dividing line is Hypoluxo Blvd. North is mostly black except Atlantis (rich folks.) South of there most power seems on but parts of Delray seem darkish. Boynton Beach Mall area - Congress between Gateway and Boynton Blvd is all lit up. Most stores were closed tonight except a few restaraunts but I expect most everything should open tomorrow. Boca Raton looks fine down the I-95 corridor. New damage seems minimal.
Lake Worth is 99% without power. The few places I saw with lights probably had alternate sources or special feeds - Palm Beach Community College, Lake Worth Nursing Home and JFK Hospital. Of course the utility grounds were bathed in light as well.
Family's experience says Jeanne was scarier (more wind & noise) than Frances but the only damage seems to be an exacerbation of existing damage. Close to 50% of houses in LW have at least minor (at least 1 tile) damage. Both my mother and sister have several immediate neighbors with catastrophic roof damage. In one case causing the interior cieling to collapse.
Given that FPL says that 77% of Palm Beach County is w/o power, I'd wager that 95% of PBC above Hypoluxo is dark.
There is a curfew for all PBC from 10PM to 6AM with 8-6 on the barrier islands. It was advised that folks attending the Dolphins game would need to retain their ticket stubs in order to gain admission back into the county that night.
As an aside, my cable/internet just came on so I can now get my S2K fix.
