In his column today, AccuWeather meteorologist Joe Bastardi says that the Cape Verde season is over.

Another wave has just left the CV area. If this area wont be producing any more storms why are there still tropical waves comming from it.

Waves can still come off of the African coast, but it's deosn't mean that they will hold together and develop.

Waves come off Africa all year long. It is only late July, August and September where conditions allow for TC development......MGC

I'm not so sure I'm ready to write it off yet. With the ridging that's been in place there's still time for one to slip through the southerly route.
