GOM oven will be baking this week.

In my opinion the odds are pretty good that
we will have some sort of tropical feature in
the SW GOM moving northward this upcoming
week. I don't care if some of the models have
backed off on development. The ingredients
will be there.

On a recent trip to Alaska, I did alot of bear watching and wasn't even threatened by hurricanes. I just knew at any given time, a bear was going to come running out the woods and eat me. I'd take the alligators anyday. Are the bears watching us too?

Maybe you could be right. What do you think of the system in the west Carib?

Actually, "bearing it all" is different than "baring it all." :)

I agree with you Storm. SST's are high especially in the BOC and the conditions are favorable. God, knows we need the rain here....BEAR?? Old NWS statement= means bears watching....Personally it was funny the first time but after 5 million posts on it, its alittle old.....

Yeah, Rock/Storm - I agree, the bear thing is beginning to wear a little thin. It had its hayday, but now may be a good time for us to let it go.

Speaking of SSTs, at the opposite end of the Gulf, Ivan sure stirred things up and cooled the temps in the NE. But air temps have been consistently high since then and I'm wondering if they may begin to creep back up?

Every day we bake in the heat, the water will warm.

But bring it on, we need some rain!
