Steve, the ChatMap is a carry over from the original group here at Storm2K. The initial group here got to know each other through a Hurricane Chat Room. The ChatMap was a map with the physical location of all the regular members. It was a great way of keeping track of everyone's location! When we formed our our board and put this site up last October we just brought it along with us :-)

http://www.storm2k.org/chatmap3.jpg Here's the link to the last version of the map. As you can see, a lot of the members are still here and very active :-)

Why is it called a ChatMap? I enjoy it being the "Storm2k Member Location Map" -- the map after all indicates where we are located in each state.... not necessarily members that are able to visit the chatroom on the limited time it is active. :)

The ChatMap is a short and sweet way of saying it. It's a tradiiton in the Storm2K group and will remain that way :-) The Chatroom will become very busy during the season and on a nightly basis. On occasions, we have had 100 people in the room during a storm. Everyone better practise their speed reading! :-)

Steve, if you go to the Member's Gallery, there's a link
at the bottom of the page for Chat Map. Of course,
it's not updated - but, there's gonna be alot of dots on
that board, soon! :D

Thank you Marshall, it truly makes sense to me. Sorry for sounding rude, I had no intention of being that way. I am glad to see this map and look forward to seeing it completed.

Also, I am sorry that I responded to the other thread on this issue, I thought I did and noticed that someone else started a thread on the topic. Thank you for your understanding. :)

Tom I didn't take you post as rude at all! :-) You asked a very valid question and I was just trying to answer it :-) Please ask any questions you like, sometimes we just do things because they've always been done that way. LOL We're always looking for ways to make STORM2K better for everyone!
