German, Russian, French leaders to hold Iraq summit

Berlin, April 9. Leaders of Germany, Russia and France
are to hold a tri-lateral summit in Saint Petersburg on
Friday to discuss post-war reconstruction of Iraq,
media reports said.

A German Government spokesman was quoted
as saying that German Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder,
Russian President Vladimir Putin and French President
Jacques Chirac will discuss "reconstruction in Iraq, the
role of the United Nations and cooperation between
Russia and the European Union," he said.

Germany, Russia and France oppose the war against
Iraq and want the United Nations to play a central role
in post-war reconstruction and the formation of a new
government in Baghdad.

Chirac announced earlier this week that he would
travel to Saint Petersburg on Friday and Saturday,
the same time that a long- planned German-Russian
summit was scheduled to be held.

This really ticks me off - they couldn't sacrifrice anything for this war - but they want in on the MONEY part. I know once again they will be catered to and get their filthy fingers in the pot.

LOL!!!!!

They're finally getting their thumbs out of their asses (sorry!). You're right Ticka, they don't want to miss out on the gravy train. I think the humanitarian aid that has been discussed by Blair and Bush is fine - the UN does have more experience with that.

I like the initial position that President Bush and Prime Minister Blair have taken. The UN has a valid role in the humanitarian relief role as Stephanie said above. The only role for the Terrible Trio should be cleaning our soldiers boots!
