Check your ballots well

#1 Postby GalvestonDuck » Mon Nov 01, 2004 9:25 am

1) Advice to those who haven't voted yet -- get a sample ballot from the newspaper or online, if you can, and review it before you go so you'll have made each and every decision beforehand and will be ready to cast your vote.

2) Advice to everyone, but especially to those planning to vote straight party ticket -- be sure to check your ENTIRE ballot and ensure that it is free from any stray marks or punches in other areas or on other pages.

3) As I said before, don't forget that some of you are not just voting for candidates alone this Tuesday, you're voting on certain proposals and city issues. Be sure to check those also.

Be safe, be calm, and be vocal -- GO VOTE!

GOOD ADVICE!!! It doesn't matter who you are voting for(personally I have a preference, but that does not enter into this), but be sure you go to the polls prepared!!

Above all VOTE AND MAKE YOUR VOICE HEARD!!

Yes, you have to check the ballots ahead of time and if you couldn't, stay in the booth awhile and read everything carefully.

My folks and I were very fortunate to only have waited about 2 to 2 1/2 hours a week ago Sunday when we voted.

We voted early on Friday. We waited 1.5 hours. The poll workers said they expect it to be 10x as bad on election day(that seems exaggerated). But in any case go prepared to wait and don't let the wait discourage you. Here in TX 2.4M voted early this year-far and away a record and in Harris County alone(where I live) 411,000 voted early-another huge record! My guess is that it is this way all over the country. It does my heart good to see so many interested in the elections. This is as it should be, minus the mudslinging, for every election.

Decided to move this to OT as a reminder to those who don't go to the PA, but obviously, will still be voting since it's not a debate issue.

I've got to peel out of work at 5pm, race back
to Summertown (30-minute drive), and, it looks
like it will be pouring rain, with a chance of a
thunderstorm, so, I'll be a human lightning-rod,
I guess, while I stand in line. I think polls close
at 7:00pm, here.

I'm ready.

I voted this afternoon around 1... I walked in regestered, and voted.. I was in and out in 15 minutes... Harris County finally changed over to the computer voting... Much easier! Now I cant wait to see who wins!

Good Luck to uh .... ?
