I didn't start drinking coffee in the morning until about 15 years ago. Prior to that, only hot tea. Sometimes I think I'd feel better if I went back to tea but coffee is so addicting! The smell/aroma, the taste!
I have 2 cups with cream/sugar in the morning.
Then I switch to hot tea later in the day if I need a hot drink. Never go back to coffee (gives me heartburn if I keep drinking it all day long).
I am addicted to caffeine - big time!
I remember reading an article about Sparky Anderson (former beloved Reds' manager and later Tigers' manager) several years ago. He had to wean himself off coffee and caffeine. He was having a high number of cups of coffee a day - over 20? Can't remember now! At the time I thought how can a person drink that much coffee per day?! Glad he got off of it. I think he needed help too.

Here's a direction we could take this coffee thread....
Do most members drink regular coffee (w/ or w/o caffeine) or do they prefer latte coffee type drinks?
My kids love those expensive $3.50 to $5 a pop, coffee drinks from Starbucks! Me? Just give a cup of good ole regular coffee, freshly brewed with beans is a plus, but just regular stuff for me!!! My kids tell me I'm so old fashioned. Not with the program, etc. LOL I just see the price - yikes, those expensive drinks add up!

I'm a decaf or half-caf Splenda sweetie with fat-free half-and-half (whipped, when I'm home -- BTW, Land o'Lakes brand does NOT whip but Publix brand does).
And even before I became a coffee-drinker in my 30s, I, too, have always been enticed by the aroma of coffee brewing! I think it brings back pleasant memories of frigid winter Saturday mornings when I was growing up and my dad would start his version of coffee (very strong) early so my mom and we kids could could pile into their bed to snuggle together and plan out the day.
Mary, when I had more "disposable income" and less awareness of how loaded with sugar/carbs the Starbucks specialities are, I could suck down flavored decaf lattes with extra foam or yes-of-course-whipped-cream-on-top frappucinnos (sp?) like there was no tomorrow.... Today, just give me a cup of plain old coffee to doctor up on my own!
Also, has anyone tried that Senseo coffee-brewing system? It's supposed to add a layer of "froth" to the top of the (black) coffee. I've heard the other brands don't produce as much froth as Senseo.
