Brennan...I just like to give a detailed weathetr outlook, only cause I feel that you all here on this board, want to know the details of the upcoming weather. Guess thats just me..lol. Any tips/suggestions? Better to focus on the short term huh. Right?
Randy...our weather over here in Woodinville was a bit similar to yours. Only we had periods of sunny and cloudy weather through out the day. But still, not a bad day! My high today was 62 with a low of 39. With the lack of rain, I had to do quite a bit of waterning of the plants this afternoon at Molbaks. Oh BTW...I have officaly been there a year now, as I recieved my 1yr pin on Monday of this week.

Good evening folks. Looking at the latest 12z and 18z GFS.... tomorrow looks like a fairly nice day with more sunshine than what we had today. 500MB heights should warm to the lower 560`s DM with SW to WSW winds of 20 to 25kts. 850MB temps are around +3C and light South winds of about 10kts. So temps tomorrow could possibly be a bit warmer with highs in the mid-upper 60`s. Sunday - next Friday looks to maybe feature showers at times, with a couple decent system coming during that time. -- Andy

I'm definitely no expert at reading models, but from what I see the GFS is not showing much dry for next week.
EDIT: 60 hour precip. totals
<img src="http://www.nco.ncep.noaa.gov/pmb/nwprod/analysis/namer/gfs/00/images/gfs_p60_132s.gif">
Too bad it won't mean mountain snow (that is if the model is even remotely correct).

It is interesting how next week keeps looking wetter and wetter. The longer range is still as clear as mud though. The GFS continues to oscillate between cold and dry, cool and wet, or just plain boring. It is interesting to note that the Canadian ensemble seems to be leaning more towards us getting into a cold tough and northerly flow. This link shows the output for all 16 ensemble members at day 10.

Latest run of the 00z GFS still shwoing a rather nice day tomorrow with may just a few clouds during the day and highs in the 60`s. Forecast still looks pretty much the same from what I said earlier. So Sunday(6th) through about the 11th looks like we`ll have showers at times but nothing in terms of anything real heavy. Upper level temps and heights look fairly mild/high for this weekend and into next week. Then next week they cool down somewhat, despite the GFS showing somewhat of a nice weekend on the 12th and 13th.

I always appreciate Seattle even more when I leave for a few days and then return.
The trees and grass in Salt Lake City are still completely dormant despite being hundreds of miles farther south than Seattle. Also... the air was quite hazy with smog trapped between the mountains. The whole scene was quite brown.
And driving by Lake Washington on the way home from the airport was a very nice sight compared to the Great Salt Lake!!
Flying into Seattle... it is amazing how SOFT the landscape looks here. You also realize how much water surround us. Its pretty stunning.

Hey Tim....I do agree with you. It`s always so nice to see all the greenery when flying back into Western, Wa. AND....if the skies crystal clear, you get too see Mt.Rainier. Also depending on where your coming from, you just may fly over your local! I know for me, when flying of Columbus, OH. and when starting to make the decent into SeaTac, we usually fly over Woodinville and Bothell. So, always neat to see whats going on down below! -- Andy

Looking at the latest 06z GFS....tomorrow through at least next week has some showers at times, but also some brief breaks as well, to which we could see some sun. 13th - 21st a high pressure ridge builds up and keeps our weather mostly dry, though there could be a stray sprinkel as weather systems continue the trend of getting torn apart and weakend by these ridges in the short and long term weather.

Stupid ridge of high pressure!! Each model run looks worse and worse for next week. There's now a chance or rain almost everyday next week. Not gonna be a washout, but definitely not perfectly sunny with temperatures in the 70s. Too bad. But hey, it's only the beginning of March!!
The extended models still indicate a pattern shift beginning next weekend. I guess we'll have to see.

AHHHHH!! Today doesn't even look like a nice day. There's a weak front right offshore that is spreading middle/high level clouds over all of Western Washington. Man, this stinks!! I was looking forward to warm/sun all this weekend and next week.
There is still hope that late next week/weekend could be warm and sunny. Actually, 500 mb heights approach 580 by Thursday...and the ridge sharpens. Man, I hope that stays in tune.

You know it's Spring when Home Depot is packed!! Just got back...every single parking space is full.
Not the best day...or at least what I was hoping for. Alot of high/middle level clouds with no sun. Temperature is mild...55F...but no sun. Hopefully tomorrow's a little better. Off to do some yard work!!
