This is the first tropical weather outlook in 2005 that talks about a system but look at water vapor.

Plenty of rain for Florida Penninsula but anything about tropical development as you can see at water vapor.

NWS TPC/NATIONAL HURRICANE CENTER MIAMI FL
1130 AM EDT THU JUN 2 2005

FOR THE NORTH ATLANTIC...CARIBBEAN SEA AND THE GULF OF MEXICO...

SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS EXTENDING FROM FLORIDA AND THE EASTERN
GULF OF MEXICO SOUTHWARD ACROSS WESTERN CUBA TO THE NORTHWESTERN
CARIBBEAN SEA ARE ASSOCIATED WITH AN UPPER-LEVEL TROUGH. THERE ARE
NO SIGNS OF ORGANIZATION AND UPPER-LEVEL WINDS ARE CURRENTLY NOT
FAVORABLE FOR DEVELOPMENT. HOWEVER...LOCALLY HEAVY RAINS MAY OCCUR
OVER THIS AREA FOR THE NEXT DAY OR SO.

ELSEWHERE...TROPICAL STORM FORMATION IS NOT EXPECTED THROUGH FRIDAY.

You aren't kidding - the Western half of the GOM is bone dry.
