Those of you in New Orleans know we've had a good rain this morning. My sister just called me, she is stuck on Manhattan and the Expressway with water up to the hood of her car. Can you imagine if we were to get hit by a major cane?!

I know....that would be ridiculous! A Flash Flood Warning has been posted for that area....check out the storm totals so far at that intersection...4-5 inches.

ORLEANS PARISH IN SOUTHEAST LOUISIANA

REPORTED SEVERE STREET FLOODING WITH SOME ROADS IMPASSABLE ACROSS
JEFFERSON PARISH...AND PORTIONS OF ORLEANS PARISH. VERY HEAVY RAIN
HAS OCCURRED AND CONTINUES OVER MUCH OF METRO NEW ORLEANS...SOUTH
OF LAKE PONTCHARTRAIN WITH RAINFALL AMOUNTS OF TWO TO FOUR INCHES
REPORTED SINCE 1145 AM ACROSS MUCH OF JEFFERSON AND AREAS OF NEW
ORLEANS NEAR THE MISSISSIPPI RIVER.
ADDITIONAL RAINFALL AMOUNTS ONE TO TWO INCHES ARE POSSIBLE IN THE
WARNED AREA THROUGH 415 PM.
EXCESSIVE RUNOFF FROM HEAVY RAINFALL WILL CAUSE ADDITIONAL FLOODING
OF CANALS...URBAN AREAS...HIGHWAYS...STREETS AND UNDERPASSES AS
WELL AS OTHER DRAINAGE AREAS AND LOW LYING SPOTS.
DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE
ROADWAY. THE WATER DEPTH MAY BE TOO GREAT TO ALLOW YOUR CAR TO CROSS
SAFELY. VEHICLES CAUGHT IN RISING WATER SHOULD BE ABANDONED QUICKLY.
MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND.
