For SELA residents - Eye on the Hurricane

Tonight on Channel 4 at 7. Will cover new evacuation procedures and maps.


Those of you in New Orleans know we've had a good rain this morning. My sister just called me, she is stuck on Manhattan and the Expressway with water up to the hood of her car. Can you imagine if we were to get hit by a major cane?!

I know....that would be ridiculous! A Flash Flood Warning has been posted for that area....check out the storm totals so far at that intersection...4-5 inches.

EXCESSIVE RUNOFF FROM HEAVY RAINFALL WILL CAUSE ADDITIONAL FLOODING
OF CANALS...URBAN AREAS...HIGHWAYS...STREETS AND UNDERPASSES AS
WELL AS OTHER DRAINAGE AREAS AND LOW LYING SPOTS.

DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE
ROADWAY. THE WATER DEPTH MAY BE TOO GREAT TO ALLOW YOUR CAR TO CROSS
SAFELY. VEHICLES CAUGHT IN RISING WATER SHOULD BE ABANDONED QUICKLY.

Yep - and we have no water pressure here in the city. Not that I could go home because the streets are flooded. So....I am stuck downtown.
