I am catching up this evening. Like most Wednesdays, I played Scrabble and Triple Yahtzee with my mother and neighbor across the street this afternoon (next week is at my [our] house).

Had some heavy rain and wind with a bit of thunder as a thunderstorm developed over my general area this afternoon... radar indicated the cell strengthened as it moved overhead into extreme southern Marion county. My parents and I went to Perkins for dinner, just before we left to return home the sun came out a bit with the overcast sky; should add instability to the already unstable, very warm and humid air mass in place ahead of the MCC (mesoscale convective complex).

Congratulations on your scholarship, Garrett and congratulations to you, Shannon on your secretary position with UWGB Habitat. :D

Patricia, nice to hear the great news about your daughter. I wish her and your luck. :)

I will see everyone in the chatroom soon for the unveiling of the new addition to Storm2K! 8)

Lots of good news floating around on the threads tonight. Congrats and best wishes to Garrett, ticka's young'en, and that 4 year anniversary!

Furry...have a great trip. I can not believe you have been married a year already. Doesn't a year have 52 weeks? Seems more like 20! I remember all the planning and preparation that went into it. I think I still have an e-mail somewhere about it...and didn't you send a photo of the back yard garden? Amazing.

I need to confess something.

I made a woman who works at the post office cry today. I've known her for a while, and she helps me solve mailing problems for some of our clients.

Well, after getting her help, I sent her an e-mail thanking her and reminding her that I appreciated what she had done and that, if she wasn't careful, people like her would give the post office a GOOD name!

Well...apparently she was in need of that little boost..so after a fear tears from the encouragement, she dropped me a note to let me know how much she appreciated the kind words.

So folks, never ever miss an opportunity to give someone a nice little boost with a handshake or a smile or a hug. You never know when it will be just the thing that makes someone's day?

By the way, Ticka, you're in Houston, right? Know where the Conroe Regional Medical Center is? Close to you by chance? Or how about Kingwood Medical Center?

Have a great night. I will be in the hood about 9:01 EST when the new enhancement is unveiled!

You're so nice, skyman. :D I truly feel for people in the customer service industry having to put up with so much. My mom works at Walmart, and you wouldn't believe how nasty some people can be - for no good reason! A single act of kindness can become contagious. :D

Congrats to Garrett, ticka, and Secretary Shannon!

Coldfront - I love Scrabble! Do you try to use weather words? Heck, I'm lucky if I can spell "CAT". (no offense furluv  )

Furluv - Enjoy the cruise, and the Houstonian get-together, if it works out.

Dennis - LOL Windsday!

I gotta go ... the Sandman is beating me to death. Sweet dreams. ZZZZzzzzzz

Hi isobar. Weather words are not that easy to make in Scrabble. Sure if I see them and I could get enough points I would love to use them. :D

I have some "fancy moves" down pretty well and used all seven letters yesterday afternoon. The three of us (my mother, our neighbor and myself) won one game each. :)

I hope everyone has a good morning and I will see you all during the course of the day.

Oh Poppysky, I'm kinda selfish I guess. It makes me feel sooooo good when I can make others feel good. So I do it as much for myself as for them. Ok I confessed.

Shannon, congrat on your new office. I'm sure you'll do a great job.

Garrett, good luck on your exam and good job getting that scholarship!!

Dennis, is that wind chime of your still going nuts???? Thanks for the ear buddy.

You know you Moms around this place are doing an excellent job!!!! (((Hugs))) Ticka that's great. Hey Furry I thing canoeing with your Mom or Dad is more educational than anything!!!! Have a great time on your cruise and remember that stars and stripes bathing suit!!!!!

David, any news yet????? Ok, well I brought some KK's to sooth your nerves.

I made a pitcher of fresh lemonade. Enjoy
Take Care

Thanks for the lemonade Karan. It tastes wonderful! :D Well the rain is gone for now. I should be studying for my economics exam tomorrow, but I just don't want to. ;)

Tom... I love playing Scrabble but my family thinks it is too boring. They just know they will lose against me! ;)

Karan, its always so fun to read your posts! The "stars and stripes" suit is for the cruise in October....lol thats when we go to St. Maarten, a trip both of our Moms are going on!

This time we're going to Mexico, same ports I wrote to ya'll about 3x last year...but the kids have never been there, so they are totally excited.

Steve, thanks for remincicng with me about our wedding last year....how unconventional it was to get married on the cruise, with strangers as witnesses, and then a month later, have our reception here at home (the old house). For those of you who do not know the story, my father died of a heart attack just a week and 1/2 before our reception. It was a very hard time. My mom insisted that the show must go on, and when we left FL, for his funeral, she came back to Louisiana with us for our reception. We wanted to canel, but how totally unselfish of my mom to insist we still celebrate our union. Does anyone else out there have the best mother in the world? :)

Well, we are rapping up school today. I decided to give the kids an xtra day off tomorrow.

Thanks for all the wellwishes on the cruise. We'll set up a webpage this time to view pics.

Steve, random acts of kindness are a really cool thing. You touch all of our lives from one time or another in that way. Thanks for being you....

Have fun.

Good Evening all, Not much going on here. Just got home from work a little while ago. I feel for everybody who works in Customer Service or in any retail industry. I deal with them all day. I especially feel bad for Mothers who work in CS or Retail industries because there is no break for them when they get home.

Hello to everyone on the Front Porch this Friday afternoon. As you can see I didn't get to bed until practically dawn this morning catching up on posts.

The temperature is 86.7°F degrees here with several cumulus clouds all across the sky. Today's high are expected to reach the upper 80s, so just about there, I wouldn't be surprised if it hits 90 briefly. Only expected to drop down into the upper 60s by morning.

As of now, isolated thunderstorms are in the forecast for northern portion of east central Florida for tomorrow (Saturday), Tuesday and Wednesday.

Afternoon highs tomorrow are expected to be in the lower 90s, most likely the warmest temperature in the country tomorrow. :)

I hope everyone has a great rest of their Friday and a Wonderful Weekend. See everyone around. :D

Hi everyone...Raine...soooo good to see you! Hope you can chat tonight....hope I can get into chat...lol.

Just got an email from friends we met on our wedding cruise last year, and they've last minute booked the same cruise as us for Monday. That is so special! Makes it even more exciting.

Hope everyone has a great weekend, and prayers are out to TLC.

Oh boy, I'm pooped! Let me prop my feet up on the little table here. Just got back from daughters dance recital rehersal. Loooooong. Had it last night til 10 and then tomorrow from 8am til 5pm. Yawn!

At least my phone won't be aringing! Got some kind of problem in the line, can't call out & when you call in you get a busy signal.

I'm sitting here waiting for Atmos Energy to send someone out here. Turning onto my street, I noticed a strong natural gas smell. Hmmmmm. They told us no smoking outside, don't start a car and stay inside. Even one of my cats is real jittery. I was at a neighbors house calling Atmos (since I can't call out) and my cat started meowing to go into their house.

It's been the day from H***!

RAINE!!!! YOU CAME HOME!!!!! SO GLAD MARY AND I WERE ABLE TO "REEL YOU IN"!! And thanks for the KK's-You know I will always share my KK's with you!!! But we still have to watch out for Crouton!!! You know him and chocolate covered KK's!!! :o

CajunMama, let us know you are ok!!! I haven't heard any big booms from over Laffayette way yet!!! When the animals get jittery you know something is up!! :o

Garrett!! YOU ROCK!!! CONGRATS on the scholarship!!!

Let's see Shannon-that is responsibility number 3,421 if I am counting right!!! How do you do it??? Congratultions on the secretary position for Habitat!!!!

Ticka!! Give Chastity a big congratulatory hug for me!!! And then give yourself and Donny one too!!! Great Job by all three of you!!!!

I need to get out the watering can I guess. The temps are supposed to hit 90 or above this weekend with no rain in sight! TWC did say a severe threat is possible Sunday, but our local OCM's are not alluding to it. We are about 3" behind right now and even though that isn't much parts of my yard are showing it.

Well, till next time I shall move on to another thread or bed.
