Would not that be academic at this point? :eek: Not much differance in catastrophic damage from a strong Cat 4 to weak Cat 5 :eek: . Just my thoughts. Comments welcomed.

If surface winds are 90% of FL winds, does that mean that the max outbound of 150KTS translates to a surface of 135KTS?

Almost completely weather ignorant, so if this is a stupid ???, sorry.....

There is a MAJOR difference between cat4 and cat5 winds. I'll try to find the writeup on it, but for every increase of 5mph over 130 of something near that is incredible..
