Who is leaving , where are you going, when are you leaving?

This is the general tropical discussion area. Anyone can take their shot at predicting a storms path.

Who is leaving , where are you going, when are you leaving?

#1 Postby bevgo » Fri Jul 08, 2005 1:43 pm

Mods--I couldn't find a thread--hope there is not one.

I am leaving at around 2:30 today going to Meridian MS. I know Dennis will follow me there--LOL but at least I will be far inland. I will check back as I can but Mom has dial-up and I don't want to tie up her phone line for long periods. Maybe late tonight when everyone is in bed.

Please everyone stay safe. My prayers are with everyone in the path of Dennis.

Won't make a final decision till tomorrow morning. But from the way things are looking right now, we will probably stay home and not evacuate. If we do leave, it will be to N MS.
Everyone stay safe and hunker down till Dennis says good bye.

Going nowhere -- unless Dennis takes a hard right into the Big Bend of Fla. as a Cat. 3.

Ditto. We will decide about boarding up tonight, and about evac tomorrow.

And EXTRA ditto to everyone staying safe.

We live in Pace/Milton area...Just to the east of Penscaola in Santa Rosa County. Were leaving in the wee hours of the morning on Sunday, IF Dennis is still headed this way at that point. We will stay in Troy Alabama, we stayed there when we evacuated from Ivan also. Hopefully we will be as lucky with our home as we were with Ivan. Our new roof will be tested thats for sure. Hopefully by Late Saturday we'll have a better idea whether or not we need to leave. I sincerely hope everyone in the path of Dennis have their plans ready to put in play in the upcoming couple of days. Stay safe everybody.

I am about five miles from the gulf of mexico, but only about a half a mile from the bayou. My backyard is in a storm surge zone, but the house sits up high. My house has been through many storms, though none this powerful, I am praying it will weaken before it hits.

I'm about 45 minutes inland from Gulf Shores, AL. My family plans to leave sometime tomorrow afternoon or evening to go west to Slidell, LA at my uncle's house. Depending on where the storm goes that is. If it's east of Pensacola then we probably won't go, but anywhere west of there we will leave. We went to LA for Ivan and we had absolutely no traffic on I-10 west bound, hopefully it will be that easy again. Well that's my plan from here in AL.

Im in Gulf Breeze and lost my last house due to Ivan. Moved about 1/4 mile more inland and up on a little rise/hill and not worried about surge or flooding this time. (wasnt worried last time either? hummm)

But Im staying here with my bestfriend that missed out on Ivan last year and sending the wife and kid to the inlaws in Milton where we went last year. Nice and safe all brick home with brand new steel hurriance shutters.

I will be ventruing out at first light / right after the storm to take pics and help the best I can. Then heading up 87 to milton since if it gets bad again Garson point might get washed out again.....

Everyone staying in harms way stay safe.

If you are in the storm surge evacaution zones you must leave. If you are inland and are outside of flood prone areas you do not need to leave.

Follow all advice given by local law enforcement and local EOC's.

If told to leave do so promptly it will save your life.
