Everyone (including me) says that 95L is the start, so a little after development says the aug 7 interval will set it in motion.

They are starting to get busy now but next week I think it will be the beginning of a long season.

I'm assuming "busy" means 2-3 storms. So I say, Aug. 14th. Why? School starts then. And the season always seems to REALLY get going when I don't have the time to track the hurricanes. Haha.

GFS develops two low pressure systems with 95L in 264 hrs.
Not real accurate, but hinting at a more favorable environment for activity.

Astroman, how can you have school from sept 10-june 10? Mine starts at Aug 25 and ends around June 20. Well whatever, we get holidays every month so maybe that's the reason.

Lucky for me last year Frances and Jeanne occurred on the weekend and interestingly I procrastinated on a project that was due coincidentally after the day Ivan made landfall, so I had to two things at one time, but normally my parents wouldn't let me stay up until 2 AM, great excuse for that.

EDIT Sorry if I was off topic but I voted next week, don't know why, I should've voted this week because that's what my gut's telling me now.

I say we will see a big upswing once the whole Mjo wet pshase enters the Atlantic. I say by mid month we will have 4 storms at once in the Atlantic.
