I would be up for it also, but I dont think children should attend. We all know how demanding kids can be and may cause distractions from our interaction. This could also alienate some of our single members.

Also could alienate the ones with families...Sea world is a family attraction with plenty of things for the kids to do...Adults can sometimes be more demanding than some adults...

At first I was thinking of going without my kids but after reading your first post, I figured if you are then I would. I can see both sides, and either way is fine for me. I think people should do whatever they feel. Some may not have a choice or choose to bring them and I think that is just fine. SeaWorld definitly has a ton of things to do with kids. They have a gigantic area with all sorts of things to play on. And if you bring a spouse they can interact with the kids more while we get to know one another. That way everybody has a good time. Lets let everybody choose what they want to do, and not alienate anyone. :D

I have checked and there are some hotels close to sea world for less than $50.00 a night...Hopefully we will have a set date and place soon...It seems like we might get a pretty good turnout if we do the Sea World plan just waiting on more specifics.... :D

I'm going to bring my family does anyine know if they'll have something on Florida residents. I think I'm the only one coming up from South Florida. Ivanhater has a long drive also. I think it won't be a problem with single members and people bring families because alot of us have families and we can't be excluded.

I forgot to mention people from other neighboring states our welcome too. the reason why I didn't bring it up was because of the distance factor. I would like to meet members along the Gulf coast in the affected areas from last year.

Isn't there a governor's/state meeting on hurricane prepardness in May anyway? Know there was one last year that a few members came down for in Tampa. If there is maybe we could time it to match?

loading up the explorer as we speak...grin

Hiflyer...Weston direct from Uncle Al's... :Partytime:

Just to let you guys know, I called a few hotels on Internation Drive, which is right down the road from Sea World and found a few affordable places. But I was told that May 19th-27th is a high season and prices go up, 30.00 at this one pitucular place. So going before the 19th may be ideal. Also was told some of these places offer deals for big parties. At the Travel Lodge they said 9 or more rooms book and you get a cut. I don't know if everyone wants to stay at the same hotel or not, I am sure some may rather pay a little more and get a nicer room, while others may not care and want something cheaper. I wish I had a link, but all I did was open the phone book and call some places. If you are interested in a hotel close to there, and want a phone number and price range just PM me, and I will be happy to give you the info I have. I think we need to figure a date first and then see what people want to do as far as hotel rooms. The sooner the better I am thinking. :D Thanks.
