Kinda surprised chad? Remember that there is a noaa plane out there and maybe the data found strong winds.

Unless we get a repeat of light steering currents right against the coast, ala Emily.

There is a NOAA research flight in the area, unrelated to the TD. But since they are near it, they'll drop some dropsondes in it to get some info, as a bonus.

I take one look at my scoreboard avatar, then I look at the calendar, and my face looks something like this:

I just can't believe it. I've waited for quite a while to see the list used up, and the more storms that form, the more I think it's possible. History is in the making for sure. :)

By the way, what's the difference between a recon plane and an NOAA research plane? I've never heard of an NOAA research plane before.

Why do you count depressions instead of storms????

The NHC does advisories on a TD. A TD is a tropical cyclone. Therefore, TDs count toward the scoreboard. :)

The primary recon mission belongs to the Air Force Reserve.

NOAA flies P3 Orions inside storms, and also Gulfstream IVs collecting environmental data around systems.

There's definitely a closed LLC, but I agree it's a pretty sorry looking mess.

Wow, that Gert had an interesting life. I don't think we'll be saying the same about this Gert, though.
