Arctic Outbreak after Christmas...

Okay guys, let me bring you back to reality. We live in Texas, there is no such thing as cold. Come on, Portastorm, you know just like I do, no more cold for this year, we have had our yearly shot and that is it.

So spring should be here in a couple of weeks....

Here are some model maps laid out by DT over at the Eastern Boards. He is expecting a winter event for the Northeast the last part of December.
Fore the model readers....by looking at the maps he laid out, it looks like some pretty darn cold air coming down into Texas during this same time period. Am I seeing things right?

In this one below he mentions the possibility of a major league arctic outbreak right after the 1st of the year.

GFS looks too cold... the airmass will be from the Pacific, not the Arctic.

Brent, I will be watching this scenario with you from here in Charlotte. Looks real interesting and cold, especially on the backside of the storm. Wrap around moisture looks to be all snow. The 26th looks cold, but I agree the GFS looks a bit overdone.

Ya, I go over to Eastern alot and I had read that earlier. Looks very interesting for just about everyone in the lower 48 around New Year's. Possibly yet another arctic outbreak? GFS ensembles and others as well very interesting. Certainly possible.
