Anyone noticed that Winter began officially?

#1 Postby cycloneye » Wed Dec 21, 2005 5:33 pm

I know that many didn't noticed it because it has been very cold in many parts of the US but today the 21rst Winter started officially as it's the short day of sunlight. :)

Actually I did Luis, with us breaking a 82 year old record high temp today it wasn't HARD to *try* to remember that it's WINTER

I thought winter started some 3 or 4 weeks ago. Its been down right cold, and we have a solid snow pack on the ground. Oh I miss the days of green grass and a golf club in my hands. Just got to keep saying 4 more months...4 more months.

With the weather actually getting warmer tomorrow...its easier to believe that winter may be coming to an end!

I would like to know where autumn was though, it seemed to be summer all through October and the first half of November..then suddenly it was winter!

Does that mean January will be spring...or are we going straight back to summer next month? 8-)

Don't worry...I think the worst of winter is still to come. Expect more arctic air to spill into the central and eastern U.S. in January...but in the west winter will be harder to find, but there is destined to be a cold winter there at some point, just probably not this year.

No kidding!!!

Here I am with highs in the 50s now where just a couple of weeks ago we were seeing highs in the single digits along with snow very few days.
