When I saw this, I sent a text message up to my brother who lives on Long Island. He has been complaining that they havent gotten real good snows this winter. Guess he is going to get what he has been wanting, plus more. Too bad this is happening on the weekend not during the middle of the week, as he is a teacher up there.

Be Careful here!!! This is a watch. The 12Z NAM is further east with this storm, just glancing the coast on this run. However I think it is underestimating the potency of this system based on water vapor and radar returns showing up in the TX/LA area. This will be close, but I believe the I-95 corridor will get a good hit from this. Now to await the 12zGFS and Canadien!!!!!!!!!!!!! of course the EC as well

They ALWAYS happen on a weekend! It's going to be nuts at the grocery stor tonight!

I was born on Long Island. I would've loved to see a "blizzard" too. However, my area is going to get a good snow from this as well.
