It does look like the ETA went on a pre-Mardi Gras Bourbon Street binge! However, this section of the New Orleans NWS discussion is interesting:
It does seem like our luck is running out... or getting better (depending on your opinion of winter weather).
BUT AS LONG AS WE CONTINUE TO PLAY WITH THESE COLD AIR OUTBREAKS AND GULF SYSTEMS THROWING MOISTURE OVER US WITH THE HELP OF THE SUBTROP JET...SOONER OR LATER OUR LUCK IS GOING TO RUN OUT AND A STRONG WINTER WX SCENARIO WILL BE AT OUR DOORSTEP.
It does seem like our luck is running out... or getting better (depending on your opinion of winter weather).
