It does look like the ETA went on a pre-Mardi Gras Bourbon Street binge! However, this section of the New Orleans NWS discussion is interesting:
BUT AS LONG AS WE CONTINUE TO PLAY WITH THESE COLD AIR OUTBREAKS AND GULF SYSTEMS THROWING MOISTURE OVER US WITH THE HELP OF THE SUBTROP JET...SOONER OR LATER OUR LUCK IS GOING TO RUN OUT AND A STRONG WINTER WX SCENARIO WILL BE AT OUR DOORSTEP.

It does seem like our luck is running out... or getting better (depending on your opinion of winter weather). :D

We have had snow. Although no accumulation. A winter dump wouldn't surprise me at all. It's colder here right now than at my former home in Alaska. The added humidity down here makes it feel extra cold for 40F.... which is our high for today.
