Valentines day storm New England

This mornings disc. out of Taunton shows lots of uncertainty for New England.

In the old days they used to call this type of coastal development a "double barrel" system. We may not know till Valantines eve exactly how these lows are going to interact qnd what the final result will be.

You can see the shortwave over Florida that the GFS appears to be turning into a third convective feedback low. This short wave is tracking east a little faster and is staying further south than the models would like. Time will tell, but the tighter interaction of the more traditional tandem orientation should preclude much loss of energy to the third element.

I hope you guys are doing alright up there. The wind is still whipping around pretty good down here from the NW and we're getting snow showers. I know you're getting socked right now.

Ended up with over 2 feet here, but the wind kicked in and is blowing it all around, so I won't be able to get an accurate measurement

1.25" snow
2.75" Sleet/Freezing Rain

Everything is coated in ice.

Pretty much the same here. We had about an inch of snow last night that covered the ice that came down the night before. The trees and shrubs were still all glazed this morning.
