A brief but welcomed warm up!

#1 Postby azsnowman » Sun Dec 30, 2007 6:34 pm

After 24 days with temps WELL below normal, averaged 16-20° below normal, hit a high today of 51° for a brief moment (average high 47°)...but it will be short lived! A high will build over Colorado bringing in a N-NE flow with stiff N-NE winds over 30 mph forecasted bringing temps back to below normal!

Next shot of moisture is Thurs over the weekend, supposed to start out as all rain then gradually switch over to snow!

Today was a BEAUTIFUL break...actually got the Christmas decorations down outside, then sat on the back deck out of the wind, in the sun and enjoyed a Sam Adams Winter Brew!

We had a wonderful break too, but now it's snowing again. It actually hit +30 today which felt really warm. This morning actually stayed above 0 (+2) so when we went outside this morning it actually felt really good.

It's short lived though. Next few days look pretty cold and windy too.

Monday: Partly sunny, with a high near 12. Wind chill values as low as -15. West southwest wind between 10 and 15 mph.

Monday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around -18. Wind chill values as low as -30. West southwest wind between 5 and 15 mph.

Tuesday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around -15. East wind between 5 and 10 mph.

On the plus side, maybe this drought will end here and down there too. If it's going to be cold, might as well be snowy too. Anyway enjoy your (temporary) warm up. We sure enjoyed ours.
