OK...for you folks that seldom see snow or just like looking at it, here's some new photos taken just minutes ago!
Notice the snowplow to the left, he was coming down the street and DID NOT bury my DRIVEWAY, GOD BLESS HIM!

It's hard to get an exact measurement, the wind has been howling and the area I measure at is *usually* out of the wind...I'd guess right at 13-15", maybe more!

I found a *somewhat* protected area in the yard and I measured 19"...now bear in mind, this is a heavy, moisture laiden snowpack, I know we are going to have widespread power outages moutain wide once it starts falling off the trees!
This brings my total snowfall since December to a whopping 62", that's WAY above normal! I should be around 24-28" and it's ONLY the first week of January, the heaviest snow months are yet to come!

Love the pics. Thank you for posting them. I can't imagine how a person would walk in that kind of snow. How do you manage?

Cookiely, it's easy, I avoid it at all costs
Na...it's not that hard, just pace yourself! If one must go out in the deep snow, we normally cross country ski or snow shoe!

No...that's a REAL honest to God CREEK! It comes from a lake called Pine Lake Meadows! It's a townhome development that has a private lake in the middle...the creek runs most of the time with FISH in it too! Blue Gill perch mainly...
The creek is GREAT most of the time but when the summer rains hit, it tends to FLOOD a lot so it's a PAIN then!

Ack! The pain! The pain! THE BLUENESS OF IT ALL!
If you can, try upping saturation and contrast, and, if you can, find some sort of color setting on the camera, the color should look a little nicer. Although since these are more made to be memories and stuff, I suppose it doesn't matter.
But that's awesome. We're still behind; bet it has something to do with those warm recent temperatures and minor drought. Is there any way of importing those mountains to Virginia?

Snowman,
I would love to see some snow like that around these parts. But I fear that I will have to live through your pictures. I can't remember seeing that much snow on the ground at one time. Its been a few years since then. The pictures are absolutely wonderful. Keep em coming.
