May God Have Mercy on us!

#1 Postby azsnowman » Mon Jan 28, 2008 7:09 am

May God Have Mercy on our souls....this is the worst flooding in all my 40 yrs. on this moutain. I have NUMEROUS friends in the town of Carrizo. These damns are located 2 miles to my south, however, I have a damn that feeds "my" creek, you've seen the photos, that is near bursting stage.

Prayers please

Thanks for the thoughts and prayers!! WELL...the rain has stopped and it's now nearing BLIZZARD conditions! This is the most screwed up weather I've EVER seen up here!

The evacuation has expanded to others areas of the White Mtn. Apache Rez....the Whiteriver has gone to 20' above flood stage according to scanner traffic, parts of Show Low have been evacuated along Billy Creek...this is bad!

FINALLY...the rain has all but stopped and it's snowing like a SOB again! All the flood warnings have expired, rivers are still way above flood stage, Carrizo Creek at the last check is running 7500 cubic feet per second, compared to a NORMAL 200 CFS!!

Supposed to receive over 12" of snow tonight according to some sources, NWS has 8-10" possible, I don't care at this point in time, just as long as it isn't RAIN!! :ggreen:

We all wish you luck. We're having a blizzard here too, but it's too cold to rain. Rain on top of snow is just nasty. Hope everyone gets out of it OK.

I hope they have evacuations already happening if it's truely imminent. 2.5 hours is not all that much time and rarely do things go as expected. Dang drought busting usually sucks at some point.
