Winter Watch 2009

#1 Postby JonathanBelles » Mon Sep 07, 2009 9:50 pm

Even in FL, Im seeing signs of change towards the winter.

Just talked to my grandfather in Upstate NY, and he said the leaves are changing already.

We've had frost advisories in the Pacific NW and in the upper Midwest.

Cold fronts are coming down all the way to the gulf coast.

Dew Points are flirting with 70 in Central Florida once a week (second week in a row for St. Pete)

So, how long until the first real cool down all the way to the gulf coast?

I would love the answer to that very same question! I have emailed all the meteorologist to all our local news stations to ask them about their thoughts on this up coming fall and winter. I also wanted to know if the temps would drop below 90 sometime this month! I would take 88 as the high and be a happy camper.. you know throw me a bone type deal.

Summer was all too brief here in Maine. June was a cold rainout. July and August were our summer. Now our highs are near 70° and dewpoints in the 40s. No frost here yet in the southwest part of the state, but you can smell fall in the air and see it in the trees as the leaves begin their annual change.

Welcome to Storm2K, Eric!

The leaves are just now starting to fall from the trees here in Tennessee...I notice a few here
and there coming down when I'm working outside. The nighttime temps are certainly cooler, and
the light from the sunrise comes in through a different angle in the east-facing windows, lately,
so I know that fall is just around the corner!
